Objectives: 100% of students in grades 3-5 will demonstrate a proficiency by increasing 5% in Reading as measured by the ACT Aspire.

 Strategies

Teachers will attend Professional Development aimed at increasing their knowledge of CCRS in Reading and Depth of Knowledge Questioning.

Teachers will meet by grade levels to analyze trends in data.  Teachers will use their findings to drive their instructional decisions and their pedagogical practice. 

Students demonstrating difficulty in acquiring grade-level skills in Reading will be placed with a tutor for intense  intervention.

Teachers will attend MEGA Conference and AETC Conference and will be required to perform turn-around training on the key concepts, practices, and/or technology they acquired.

 Strategies:

Students demonstrating difficulty in acquiring grade-level skills in Mathematics will be placed with a tutor for intense intervention.

Teachers will participate in Professional Development (in bands K-2 and 3-5) whose focus is to increase the rigor in math lessons by incorporating the use of Engage NY.

Teachers will meet within their grade levels to discuss data from multiple sources to aid in their preparation for mathematics instruction.

Objectives: 100% of all students will  demonstrate a proficiency by writing to standard an on-demand writing piece as measured by semester writing assessments. 

Strategies:

Students will write an on-demand writing piece which targets a specific writing mode every nine weeks.

Students attend keyboarding class once a week to improve writing skills. 

Teachers will provide writing opportunities during the daily scheduled writing block and content areas.
