Monica Montalvo

Principal

I am Monica Montalvo and this is my 5th year as Principal at Kelly Springs Elementary, my 16th year in Education. Before joining the Kelly Springs family, I was an Assistant Principal at Dothan High School for two years, an Instructional Coach for four years and a fifth grade teacher for five years. All of my professional experience has been here at Dothan City Schools, while serving on various campuses.  I am a native of Louisiana who was transplanted here in Alabama via the U.S. Army, where my husband of 30 years, David Montalvo, served for 23 1/2 years. We decided to retire here because we love the small town feel and felt God led us here for a purpose. David and I share 6 adult daughters, four of which I birthed. They range in ages from 34 to 24. I am also blessed to be a “Glamma” as my baby girl birthed her 1st daughter, my 1st Glam-girl who has my whole heart! We are currently empty nesters enjoying life with our two fur-babies, Luna and Bella-Grace!  I am passionate about providing our students with a quality education and count myself as “extremely blessed” to be able to minister in this capacity each day. I fully believe that the impact we make today, will help to shape the lives of our students tomorrow. So, with that in the forefront of my mind, I make it my mission to give my students and staff the BEST version of me each day! After all, they deserve way more than I, myself, will ever be able to provide.

 

Kendra Faulk

Assistant Principal

Kendra L. Faulk is a dedicated educator and instructional leader committed to student success and supporting the vision of Kelly Springs Elementary School. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 2015, a Master of Education in Elementary Education in 2017, and an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) in Instructional Leadership in 2024. Throughout her career, she has taught kindergarten, third grade, and sixth-grade reading and has served as a Reading Coach for grades 6–8 in Ozark, Reading Specialist for Dothan City Schools, and Math Specialist at Kelly Springs Elementary School. She currently serves as Assistant Principal at Kelly Springs Elementary School, where she is passionate about supporting teachers, building positive relationships, and helping create an environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed.

Mrs. Faulk has been married to her husband, Travis Faulk, for 10 years, and together they have four children and six grandchildren. Family is at the heart of their lives, and they enjoy spending time together and making lasting memories. With grandchildren who are active in sports, you can often find them cheering from the sidelines at a ballfield or sporting event. When they are not supporting their grandchildren, they enjoy family outings, traveling, and all things Disney.
